Smooth Muscle Movie

Real time video of a focal area of the ES cell derived embryoid body exhibiting visible slow smooth muscle- like contraction (once every 5 – 10 seconds). This area of slow contraction stained positively for SMMHC, a highly specific marker for SMC (see manuscript, fig. 2C) confirming that the contraction was due to SMC aggregates rather than cardiac or skeletal muscle.
